The world it gets the final love on us
All of our dreams and all our hopes enough
We need the music to soothe the savage breast
You look inside a thousand lives or two
You know the meaning when she smiles at you
She plays the music to soothe the savage breast
Music to soothe the savage breast

There's more than one emotional affects
They keep the wheels emotion out in place
They play the music to soothe the savage breast
Music to soothe the savage breast Favorite track: shock treatment.

Had the wisdom then I didn't Threw it away in dark terrain Agent of my own perdition All of the gilt and dye that built my elegant vision has crumbled away here we go - build it up pull it down build it up pull it down build it up pull it down I didn't know I was wrong when I was lost and lethal I collect but I'm not begging Throw me a line and wish me well I'm erect but I'm unsteady All of the temples crumbling looks like everything given is taken away here we go - build it up pull it down build it up pull it down build it up pull it down I didn't know I was wrong when I was lost and lethal All of the gilt and dye that built my elegant vision has crumbled away here we go - build it up pull it down build it up pull it down build it up pull it down build it up pull it down build it up pull it down build it up pull it down I didn't know I was wrong when I was lost and lethal here we go - penitent villain he's done it again here we go - the penitent villain has done it again

shrug 04:41
we're all here to die put away all your hating there's no time to love enough smile, see the pantomime shrug off your cloak of melancholy If there's no time to laugh enough there's no time to cry we're all here to die put your head on the altar can you swear you've lived enough or are your ropes chafing? are your roped chafing.....
3.
bluebird 06:26
you talk in tongues you bend ear you say the revolution starts here where the bluebird flies high above this hazy view where dormant buds unfold and bloom and I say right on right on everything now in darkness will be lighter and we can raise a joyful song so it's time fell the sun you say the new Messiah has come he's just hoping you won't see the scuff-marks on his shoes or see his knuckles bound and bruised but I say right on right on everyone's going to heaven as a fighter and we can raise a joyful song ..and we can raise a joyful song

relapse 02:16
mosquito how you plague me take your sickly whine away I am so tired of this malaise I could have pleaded wept and begged had I foreseen this lassitude these listless eyes... ...but I felt nothing at the time I was anaesthetised

Faraday what have you gone and done they march off hand in hand just like lovers do wired up so life can run right through swaying in the steel insulating womb love to lift the earth just like the lineman do like thrushes in the wind like sailors in a Baltic gale get me up so I can feel the force that's flung get me up so I can see the spark's wild run get me up so I can see the spell being spun hand over hand and don't look down! soon I'll strap in place feel my head whip back from your embrace need to fill the void need to make us whole God protects me from the things I can't control there's nothing to be done lean back and let the voltage run forty thousand coursing from a grid to flee forty thousand pouring succour into me forty thousand make this body dance and hum Faraday what have you gone and done

isn't it sad 04:14
room, paper ruled, flat hell, hell is like that find a word but it won't fit force a rhyme but it's not hip well what is how d'you feel then when you know your muse is gone again she gave it all she had, isn't it sad when her gift is all you need but you always lose it eyes, filmy and vague fly to window and away scratch a line, describe the view coin a phrase but it's not new well what is how d'you feel then when your muse has gone to ground again she gave it all she had isn't it sad when her love is all you need, but you always lose it clocks, fade away dumb birds, failing unsung pen that writes runs out of ink pulse of life but not in sync well what is how d'you feel then when you'd kill to hear her voice again she gave it all she had isn't it sad when salvation makes you bleed but you can't refuse it

loaded gun 04:37
you say that I don't want to win and I say darlin' it's just a game the more you try to live by different rules the more you stay the same you thought you'd conquered all your fear but all in vain find the path to the sea let it run 'cos you're a loaded gun you say you're always on your knees and I say darlin' you're such a fake you always hanker after things you think you want but couldn't take and now you need your fairy tale but it's too late gilded sea silent sand let me run 'cos you're a loaded gun find the path to the sea let it run 'cos you're a loaded gun

sick baby you can't find reasons why you can';t find reasons to die you don't want reasons to live through this pain and take your place in this world again sick baby you have you found the cure for your disease have you found a medicine man to talk to has he said here, take one of these have you found a magic door to walk through sick baby you lost the will to feel you lost sight of the real you, can't find reasons not live through this pain and take your place in this world again sick baby you

the kiss-off 04:32
caught my shadow in the evening sun it seemed to be far too long now I meditate all night 'cos thinking gets me down drives me round in circles on the abstract side of town and I say... Have you come to save me? give me solace in a thought, buried in pre-history Have you come to spare me? or have you come to wave me bye-bye..... no enlightenment in loneliness I find it helps to talk it out invite my friends around but now they won't go home they tell me it's too dark for them to go out on their own and I say... Have you come to save me? give me solace in a thought, buried in pre-history Have you come to spare me? or have you come to wave me bye-bye..... black leather bible hanging in the sky some cut it down and feed the fire well I don't think it's necessary asking for reprieves when I'm stranded in an hourglass with my head between my knees and if it's not too much to ask I'd really like to know like what was my existence for and how much do I owe and I say Have you come to save me? give me solace in a thought, buried in pre-history Have you come to spare me? Have you come to save me this time? or have you come to wave me bye-bye.....

about

A mixed wind and string quartet fights it out with a lot of distortion, but still “able to be played by a busker in the subway”. Features drumming from Jim White of the Dirty Three on some tracks, and members of Catherine Wheel on others.
